How Polyurea Protective Coatings Work
Spray-on Protective Coatings in Southern Alberta
- A-component (isocyanate)
- B-component (polyol resin)
When the two products are combined they react to create polyurea, which is then propelled through a nozzle under pressure to a surface needing the protective coatings. Surfaces must be cleaned, free of debris and moisture in order to create a proper bond. Once polyurea dries it is potable, meaning you can spray the inside of containers that hold water or food.
Polyurea can be applied to almost any surface, examples are: wood, metal, fiberglass, plastic, rubber, concrete, and polyurethane foam. We’ve used this coating in many industries, and is commonly used in the automotive industry, on pipelines, defense sectors, healthcare facilities, and construction.
